The cornerstone of our business is to provide you with online access to hundreds of interesting, hand crafted items, made in small quantities by independent artists around the world. Most of our artists and associates live in economically poor countries, and therefore by supporting us, you're also helping them attain a better life!
One of our business goals is to cut out several of the middle layers found in traditional business and provide you with direct access to a huge selection of unique and interesting items at a reasonable price. The Internet allows us to do this and everyone (except the middlemen) benefit; since you pay less and our artists get more money for their work. We've established close relationships with many of our artists, and therefore it's also possible to provide you with customized versions of many of these items.
Our items are special and uniquely different since most of them are directly related to a given tribal or native influence found in some other part of the world. Since you may or may not know anything about these cultures or their traditions, we also provide you access to background reference stories, legends and photos related to many of the items in our store.

The Artists who make our items live in peaceful, but economically poor countries around the world. While child-labour is rampant in many of these countries, we do not support this. We deal directly with the artists themselves rather than buying from mass-production lines & wholesalers who often use this type of labour.
Although most of our artists have some basic education, many still can not speak English, making it very difficult for them to market their arts abroad. Artisans living in the smallest villages don't have any access to running water, electricity or sewage systems. Those living in larger towns and cities who use electrical hand tools, must constantly contend with frequent power black-outs. Hence this is why most of our items are created entirely by hand using traditional wood carving techniques passed down through generations.
Although we've learned several of the local languages, we also employ local associates to help our artists market and promote their items for the western world. Therefore your purchases directly benefit several different groups of native and tribal peoples around the world.

We currently offer about 1000 quality items, mostly from the tropical island of Bali. Bali is known as "the island of the gods" since the native people still practice the island's ancient tribal rituals and cultural ceremonies. Our items celebrate tribal arts and native arts from primitive Balinese, Hindu, Buddhist and spiritual mythology and legends as well as other eastern religions and beliefs. These items are original art, sculpture and other handmade and hand crafted gifts, wood carvings, masks, puppets, collectibles, statues, figures, batik paintings and other handicrafts.
However, we are also continually searching for new items to show you and in the future we will be offering interesting items from Thailand, Mexico, Africa, South Pacific, India and of course Canada. We also welcome your comments about other areas that you would like to see items from - so let us know and if there is enough interest... we're there!
